Like a sore anywhere on your body, these sores gradually dry up and form a crusty scab, which is usually a yellow-brown colour.
The sore gradually heals.
The scab falls off over a few days and should completely disappear after around 10 days, or faster with the use of Zovirax Cold Sore Cream.
The area may be a bit swollen for few days.

Abstract
Objective:To report the safety and effectiveness of aciclovir for the treatment of genital herpes. Design and methods: This was a retrospective study that included patients who received aciclovir and their first episode of genital herpes. Records were reviewed for the diagnosis, treatment, adverse events, and clinical management of genital herpes. The outcomes were compared with the outcomes of genital herpes and genital herpes with aciclovir and for herpes simplex. Results: Out of 1,735 patients treated for genital herpes, 1,062 had signs and symptoms of genital herpes. Out of 7,907 patients treated with aciclovir and 1,050 had genital herpes signs and symptoms, and 1,067 had genital herpes signs and symptoms without signs and symptoms. Aciclovir was found to be effective in treating genital herpes in all cases. Out of 1,735 patients treated for genital herpes, 3,828 (75%) had signs and symptoms of genital herpes, and 1,023 (25%) had signs and symptoms without symptoms. Out of 7,907 patients treated with aciclovir and 1,050 (67%) had genital herpes signs and symptoms, and 1,067 (25%) had genital herpes signs and symptoms without signs and symptoms. Out of 1,735 patients treated for genital herpes, 3,828 (75%) had signs and symptoms of genital herpes, and 1,023 (25%) had genital herpes signs and symptoms without symptoms. Out of 7,907 patients treated with aciclovir, 5,023 (31%) had signs and symptoms of genital herpes, and 1,023 (25%) had genital herpes signs and symptoms without symptoms. Out of 1,735 patients treated for genital herpes, 3,828 (75%) had signs and symptoms of genital herpes, and 1,023 (25%) had genital herpes signs and symptoms without signs and symptoms. The results showed that the risk of genital herpes infection with aciclovir was lower than with genital herpes and that patients treated for genital herpes with aciclovir had lower rates of recurrence and adverse events. In addition, the aciclovir was more effective in treating genital herpes. The safety profile of aciclovir for genital herpes treatment and the adverse event profile of aciclovir and genital herpes treatment have not been previously reported.
Introduction
Genital herpes (herpes simplex; ), a sexually transmitted disease, is characterized by the inability to completely heal the genital lesions and to suppress outbreaks of the infection. The most common type of genital herpes is HSV-1. Genital herpes is more common in younger males. It can affect any age, even older women, and is more common in men. The disease is spread to the genitals by sexual contact. It is thought that HSV-1 infections are the result of a series of episodes caused by the bacteriumHerpes simplex virus type 1(HSV-1). The bacteriumco-infects with the virus, which causes genital herpes. It can spread to the penis, throat, and other parts of the body. The virus is also highly contagious and can cause genital herpes infection in up to 20% of patients, but only about 2% of patients are infected. Although HSV-1 infection is common, it can also affect the lungs and eye, and this infection can cause vision abnormalities. In a study conducted in the U. S., the mean age of the patients who had genital herpes was 35 years and the mean age of the women who had had HSV-1 infection was 51 years. The risk of recurrence was higher for patients with HSV-1 infection who were HIV-positive and women who had HSV-1 infection who had HIV-1 infection.
